I haven't seen speaker outputs on a tv in years, except for the digital, optical output, and you need to go through a receiver with that. What is the brand and model of the tv?
Not totally sure. We picked up a cheap receiver at a pawn shop for $16 and ran the TV (a SHARP flatscreen) into it and the two boombox speakers out of that and it worked. We turn the volume down on the TV and crank the receiver volume and it blasts the room out.

Thanks so much for your reply.

Routing speakers to TV...

BIG time newbie question...

We have a flat screen TV with a bunch of jacks in the back. The sound from the TV speakers is kind of low so I'd like to run the sound through a couple of boom box speakers that have those clips that take bare speaker wire. I stripped the wires off one end and put an adapter for the TV jacks but when I plug them no sound.

I'm a complete dunce at these things so feel free to pile on

Rick
