Re: How many watts?

Increasing the ohms actually raises the resistance and decreases the current and lowering the wattage of the speaker. There is now way to increase the resistance of a speaker to the best of my knowledge. Well unless you want to disassemble it and build it back from scratch. In any case a mono amp won't let you take full advantage of two speakers, hence the name mono=one.

Re: How many watts?

Changing out the speakers would make it simpler, you're right there. I was just reading up on my electronics and was wondering if I was maxing it out.

Re: How many watts?

Only way I know of is to buy new speakers, but I'm not an electronics whiz. It may have something to do with the crossover too, but I'm not sure.

Re: How many watts?

The amp is rated at 200 watts rms at a 2ohm load. I was wondering though, is there away to increase the ohm's to decrease the resistance?

Re: How many watts?

I don't know, but 2 ohms is putting a heck of a load on the amp. Are you sure the amp is built to withstand a 2 ohm load? If it's not, you could fry the amp..........

How many watts?

If I have a 200rms mono amp running two speakers, svc 4ohm running parallel to make 2ohms going to the amp, how many watts are each speaker getting?
