Is it possible for you to send me the schematics for his design? Can the FE168ES be substituted with a FE166E?

joetama I'm thinking '64. But, don't quote me on that.

BMW bikes are nice nice nice. That would be a real gem to find.

JimJ Turns out I passed on the 550F I was looking at, but more than likely I'll end up with something this month. Got a couple irons in the fire.

That one sounds like it's an earlier model...by at least '69 Honda had gone to a tubular frame.

What I really want is a classic BMW horizontally-opposed twin, but those are going for about two grand more than I have to spend right now, even the projects Figure at least if I can get a Honda looking and running sharp again, that'll keep me happy for a year or two, who knows.

joetama My brother has an old Honda tore apart in our shop.

I don't know what model it is but it has a weird one piece folded metal frame (not tube) where the motor bolts in at the top of the motor.

Weirdest thing I have ever seen.

JimJ Restoring a 1977 Honda CB550

Air cooled, carbs, no plastic fairings, takes a little bit to warm up on cold mornings, not all the amenities of modern bikes...

A lot like tube gear in those ways

joetama What is the two-wheel project?

JimJ No more audio projects for some time

Although I think I can find you the schematic for the monos...actually, there's one floating around out there that uses vacuum tube rectifiers in the PS instead of solid state ones. If I could make any changes it would be to go with tube rectifiers, but the SS ones aren't bad by any means.
