With blockbuster going the way of the dinosaur are there are viable netflix alternatives? Online ones will do just as well, the only pretense is that it be legal.

Unfortunately there are no alternatives other than your local rental shop, I think you are better of starting a dvd collection since netflix makes you wait ages till you get the chance to watch a new movie.

Redbox has their machines in a lot of towns. There's two here. One is at the entrance of WalMart, with the other vending machines. The other is in front of a Walgreens Drug Store. Very good deal, but only for one night checkout. $1 for dvds and $1.50 for blu rays.

There is lovefilm.com which allows you to rent films and games from them as well as buy. I use them quite a lot for my gaming habit :P

It mainly depends on which country your from I would say. Blockbusters have tried to modernize and now have an online store called "Blockbusters Total Access".There is also DVD avenue but that's still a growing service.

I forgot all about Blockbusters Total Access, just rented something from there now! There is a blockbusters here as well, and they mainly sell games/DVD's these days rather than rent movies.

I can't really say what's a good place, but I can say that you should stay away from most of the sites that offer unlimited access for a fee. They are mostly illegal and you'd be paying for the right to steal.
