Default Car batteries?

I'm thinking that adding a screaming audio system to your car requires a few extra batteries to power them, I was curios if you connect these batteries to the main one so that they get charged as well when driving?

I'm no expert on these things, but I would assume you just just connect the extra batteries in parallel so the voltage stays the same, but you get extra amps, or was it directly, either way a quick Google search should provide you with a tutorial.
