2 SPL 12's in 4th order BP

by SPLChris

Just now finished up my 4th order for my SPL 12's that I've had for about a month and half. The sealed chamber is 1.3 cubes per sub and the front chamber is 7.5 cubes at 55 hz. The box is in a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee. They are only getting around 2000 RMS at .5 ohms, if that, and they totally rock. These things are brutal in a bandpass. The enclosure limits how low they will go since they have a small sealed section and they start to run out of steam around 30 hz but the huge peak around 40 through 50 hz is what I was after anyway. They have a much smoother sound than other competition subs out there. It's one hell of a street beat setup. I can't wait to run 3000+ watts to them after I upgrade the electrical....

Top notch high output driver.

Pros: Price, customer service, power handling, durablity, clean sound for an SPL driver
Cons: shipping weight

I got to test the Mach5Audio SPL-12 extensively. It did not break a sweat at 2700 watts. Took multiple burps with ease, and still sounded good for daily usage. The SPL-12 can hang with the likes of the RE MT in output, and could sound a little better then the MT. The build quality is very good.
