Probably my DLP TV. I think it draws more than both of my Kenwood Sovereign MX5000 amplifiers.
Reciever- Outlaw Model 990
Amps- Kenwood Sovereign MX5000
Fronts-Polk Audio RT55i
Rears-Polk Audio RT600i
Sub- JBL powered 10"

The pieces that want the most power, are my LSi 4 ohm speakers. The piece that uses the most power is probably my Onkyo receiver, since it powers the LSi speakers.

Well I use my current media setup as a gaming pc to and I have a 1200W PSU in the case, so I imagine that's my most power hungry component since the amp I have connected to the speakers system is around 600W.

Back on track, I would have to say that the most power hungry component's are probably the speakers since most of the juice is used to produce sound, I'm including the amp into the calculation too, the other components consume almost nothing compared to the other appliances.

What brownnote says is correct, but your chances of hitting the max voltage are highly unlikely plus there are fuses to stop you from damaging your system, they usually blow out before any damage can be done and it's less than a buck to replace them.

Yup seeing how the electricity runs in a sinus wave you can sometimes put 200+ volts on your machine, of course there are safeguards to not let this surge pas into the main pcb, but they won't last forever

I always leave equipment on standby, many people say you can save money by switching everything off every evening, negligible cost savings in my opinion. You can even reduce the life of your equipment by keep switching it on and off.

I did measure it once, I don't remember exactly how much came out but it was forgettable. Besides they draw power for a reason, it's usually to preserve saved settings.
