I use my pc for occasional video watching and when I upgraded to Win 7 I noticed that the video playback color became very washed. So I upgraded the graphics card in hopes that this would solve my problem, but no such luck.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm assuming your screen is not busted, try going the menu for the display adapter and editing the color range I have seen discussions on similar forums and the users reported that option worked for them.

I'd offer a more simpler solution if I may, the codes you are using might not be updated to windows 7, try new codec pack that has had a release this month, that should solve your problem.

I though the diminished quality was because Windows 7's aero, but you are right I upgraded to the the latest version of K-lite codec pack and the playback is back to it's crisp colorful self, thanks for the suggestion doremi.
