CEntrance's 24/96 capable adaptive mode USB conversion technology is found in a lot of recent USB converters and DACs, but the company's own products are not especially well known in the home audiophile market. CEntrance is trying to change that with the release of the new DACmini preamp/headphone amp. Styled to match the Apple Mac Mini, the DACmini features optical and coaxial digital inputs (24/192 is supported via S/Pdif) and a USB input. A pair of line inputs is also included for a single analog source. The headphone amp section is Class A, and supports 50 to 600 Ohm headphones. The DACmini is priced at $795.
