New desktop speakers from Korea called the Calyx AL appear to be looking for a fight with Audioengine. The enclosures are made from 0.5" MDF, with a 0.6" front baffle. The drivers are a 1" silk dome tweeter and a 5" Kevlar mid-woofer, and are powered with 30 watts of amplification.
The Calyx AL speakers include conventional stereo inputs and a mini-jack input for computers and portable players, which can also be charged from the USB port. A subwoofer output is also included to handle low frequencies. Available finishes are white, red, and black gloss.
