I see no reason to have surround sound for listening to good music.

Steve Mantz
You are absolutely right surround sound is for MOVIES i have only two ears so 2 channels will be fine for ME.

Well, I must have 8 ears! I have a 7.1 surround setup, which includes the ability to play SACD and DVD-Audio 5.1 high resolution multi-channel music discs, and I love it. I love surround so much, and have been spoiled by it so that I can't even stand to listen to 2-channel music any more. It just sounds like something is missing. I like being engulfed by the music. Hearing music behind and beside me, as well as in front, is better than just hearing it in front of me. To me anyway. I listen to stereo in my truck, but that's it. I know a lot of people still prefer stereo, but I'm not one of them..............

I bet you like MP3s too?

I, personally, like being engulfed by the music. So, I prefer surround sound. I've said it before......... stereo sounds like it's missing something, to me.

Have you heard sacd or dvd-audio multi-channel music?
Sorry but at a concert ALL the musicians are in front of me, NONE behind.
