World Premier of the Rogue Acoustics Audio System

Audio Junkies has been granted the privilege of showing the very first pictures of the new Rogue Acoustics Audio System (RA:1K). This new car audio system from Australia utilizes digital signal processing, high efficiency drivers and some of the most advanced amplifiers ever made.

A lot more pictures and info after the jump.

I'll address the obvious first, the system pictured is not in a car. The Rogue Acoustics Audio System (RA:1K) in the pictures is currently setup for demo purposes and will be installed in an automobile in the near future. West Coast Customs is deciding on possible candidates for the install, and expect to see the system on their new television show sometime next year.

The central amplifier will have a built-in mobile phone that allows technicians from Rogue Acoustics to dial-in and tune or analyze the system from anywhere in the world. This same remote connection can also disable the system if it is stolen. Another feature of the amplifier will be the capability to detect any problems that may arise and automatically notify the dealer it was purchased from so a service appointment can be scheduled.

The signal processor in the pictures is a temporary unit until the Rogue Acoustics DSP is finished early next year. The new Rogue Acoustics DSP will work with sound analysis software and a sound generator for real-time tuning.

The amplifiers have extremely low harmonic distortion levels (0.008% at 100 watts) coupled with a high signal to noise ratio (greater than 115dB) that allows the system to be extremely loud and clear. Typically 3 to 6 amplifiers are used in the system, with each being capable of providing 1,000 watts continuous at 8 ohms (bridged) or 500 watts continuous at 4 ohms per channel (2-channel amplifiers).

There are various drivers that can be used in each system set up, all of which are very efficient and can handle a large amount of power. All of the main drivers are shown below with the compression tweeter and carbon fiber horn flare shown separately. Most systems will run 4 tweeters, 4 mid range drivers and 1 or 2 subwoofers.

The RA:1K has a base price of $72,000 (pictured) and can reach in excess of $330,000 with additional features, making it the new most expensive car audio system in the world over the $259,000 Critical Mass CES5.1 Electrostatic System. Nearly everything in the system can be customized, right down to Titanium amplifier housings and jewel encrusted logos or designs. Each system is one of kind and created for the individual user and their automobile using Rogue Acoustics' in-house design service for customization.

The Rogue Acoustics web site is being finalized and will be up around the first of the year.

Thanks to the owner of Rogue Acoustics, Aaron Le Cornu, for all of the information regarding the RA:1K. Also, thanks to Corie at West Coast customs for his help.

I think someone is forgetting the Phoenix Gold amplifier (MPH-6300) that has an MSRP of over $99,000; years ago when it was first built it had an MSRP of $250,000 by itself. If PG put together a system using this amplifier it would very well be the "most expensive" system in the world.
