The owners of the award winning Star Trek themed theater were originally planning to build a traditional home theater, but after discussing their sci-fi interests with the designers and installers from Acoustic Innovations and Audio Advisors, the idea of doing a Star Trek themed theater came up, and they decided to “make it so”. The theater, bar, and ready room are modeled after the NCC-1701D Enterprise from the “Next Generation” series, and were completed in 2006 after a combined six months of build time.

A hidden closet and adjacent room contain the source and A/V distribution equipment, including eight Kaleidescape servers containing nearly 4,000 DVDs. The Star Trek ambiance is enhanced with motion-activated air-lock doors with series sound effects, and a “Red Alert” button on the Crestron TPMC-10 controller which plays siren effects from the series and flashes red lights to simulate a Romulan attack.
