For 2008, the new STAX SR-007 Omega II MkII Electrostatic Headphones have been upgraded with Sheep-Skin Earpads, a Real-Leather Headband for added comfort, a new contoured shape for better sound and improved wiring for a more solid connection.

STAX engineers designed a unique new gold plated electrode structure with less holes than the normal STAX earspeakers for increased diaphragm vibration. According to STAX, this allows for a rich and powerful sound that retains all the delicacy STAX headphones are famous for.

The 007 Omega II Headphones come with the padded flight case (shown above), and the tube amplifier is optional. By themselves the 0STAX SR-007 Omega II Headphones will run you $2,000, packaged with the SRM-007T II Parallel Dual Triode Vacuum Tube Amplifier (shown above), the pair costs $3,895.
