Blaupunkt Joins the Discless Headunit Bandwagon
Filed under: Car Audio > Head Units / Receivers
Blaupunkt has released their new Melbourne SD27 headunit minus a CD player. Clarion beat them to the punch with their FB275BT receiver in June, but Blaupunkt is still way ahead of the game considering how many companies are still clinging on to the CD format for dear life.
The Melbourne SD27 has an auxiliary input to connect to portable MP3 players and additional iPod and Bluetooth modules can be purchased to interface with those devices. The press release states that the Melbourne can handle MP3's and WMA's with bitrates from 8 to 320k. I guess beggars can't be choosers, as the unit sells for only $160.
