Avant 900 Keeping Current

Mordaunt-Short has recently announced that it will be updating the two biggest speakers in the Avant 900 series. The new 914i and 916i use isolated crossovers and the most recent Continuous Profile Cone drivers. These unique mid-bass drivers are lightweight and do not use a dust cap. This proves effective because of the accurate, piston-like movement of the cones. Both new speakers use the 6.5" inch cones, the 914i with one and the 916i with two, the speakers also use a 1" aluminum tweeter. The new 914i speakers can be found for $600 and the 916i for $800.
