has the topic states, i'm on a lookout for a new Headset.

I love my DT770, but they are getting pretty well used, and i'm for the look out for something not that closed, and the earpads squeek.

So, i like the DT770, and are considering a DT880 or DT990.

But what is there of competiton for these, I'm open for all suggestions.

I fell in love with Head-Direct's new HEAUDIO EH-1.2B Electrostatic Headphones at CanJam. I think they run about $1,500 and don't appear to be available yet, but they are some of the best headphones I've ever heard. If I was looking for on-ear headphones, they would be at the top of my list.

Yeah, about that, i'm mad, but not that mad yet ;D

I should have put a pricerange, i see that now.
So lets say headphones between 0 - 400$. =)

I think the DT880s are the best headphones Beyer makes, definitely better than the 990s. I also highly recommend checking out the AKG K701s, and the Sony MDR-SA5000s.

I had a pair of 770's that I LOVED!! Then one day the right side decided to stop working. I had them for almost 5 years before that happened so I took them apart and tried to fix it, but to no avail.

I think I should just buy another pair though - I couldn't seem to tear myself away from those headphones though...they sounded realllly good.

Actually, I think there's a pro-sound company in Charlotte that carry's a lot of headphones that I could try out one day. Hrmm.....
