Creative Zen X-Fi Portable Media Player

Creative has released a new portable media player called the Zen X-Fi, which is the first Zen to carry a brand name from Creative's SoundBlaster line. The Zen X-Fi will be available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB versions, with the latter two supporting 802.11b/g for wireless music, video and photo syncing. All Zen X-Fi versions feature a smallish 2.5" screen with 320 × 240 resolution, a SD/SDHC expansion slot, some basic PDA functions and a built-in speaker.


The rather odd grid of nine buttons support Yahoo! and MS Live chat, cellphone-style. Creative's "crystalizer" and "expand" modes from the X-Fi sound cards are onboard to enhance music playback. The Zen X-Fi hits Japan this month, with prices ranging from $166 for the 8GB version to $307 for the 32GB.
