Zaph ZDT3.5 Upated With Dayton ND20FB Tweeter

Many people including myself were pretty bummed when Aura seemed to have halted production on nearly all of their drivers, most of which are fairly common in diy audio projects. Unfortunately, John Krutke of Zaph Audio had also just previously posted up his very nice ZDT3.5 speakers that used the Aura NT1 .75" titanium dome tweeter. Naturally the remaining stock sold out quickly and the rest of us were left trying to track some down by whatever means possible (with no luck).

John Krutke came to the rescue and redesigned the speakers to use the much more readily available Dayton ND20FB tweeter. Thankfully this tweeter is just as inexpensive as the Aura NT1 and now all of the parts for the speakers can be purchased through Parts Express instead of multiple vendors.

I'm pretty stoked about this and extremely thankful to John Krutke for the quick redesign even with his new addition to the family (Congrats John!).

If you've got the diy bug and have about $400 burning a hole in your pocket (I believe we all do right about now thanks to Uncle Sam), then check out John Krutke's ZDT3.5 speaker plans on the Zaph Audio website.

Also, word has it that the ZDT3.5's are featured in the new Parts Express flyer, so keep an eye out for them.
