CSS continues to roll out products and lately it seems like every month there is something new. Most recently, CSS unveiled their SDX7 and SDX10. Now CSS has used their long-standing relationship with world-renowned ribbon manufacturer Aurum Cantus to develop two new ribbons that are available immediately.

The two new models are the RT1 and LAR1 with both models using a new
honeycomb aluminum diaphragm rather than the typical corrugated ribbons
used in the past. The claim is lowered distortion, which is a good move
for a ribbon tweeter. The RT1 is available with a square or round
faceplate, while the LAR1's rectangular faceplate and high efficiency
make it a good match for line arrays.

The RT1 comes in at $100 plus shipping, while the LAR1 is priced at $229 plus shipping. More data for each follows. Distortion measurements, waterfall plots, and FR measurements are also available on the CSS website.

it seems to me nowadays a full CSS setup would be a mighty good one

They have enough variety now to do a speaker like Jim Holz's Statements using a pair of the SDX7's, a pair of the FR125SR's and one of the ribbon drivers.
