Woofers Etc snagged up some of Phoenix Gold's excess inventory and are passing the savings along.

The Ti5 and Ti6 Phoenix Gold midrange drivers are hand made units from Morel that had an MSRP of $200 and $190 each for the 6.5" and 5.25". Woofers Etc. currently has them both listed under the original dealer cost at $69.99 each or $129.99 for a pair. Pretty sweet deal.

Features:
- 3" multi-layer voice coil
- Custom cast aluminum basket
- Ultra thin mounting depth
- Threaded speaker connection terminal
- Solid one piece polypropylene cone/dust cap assembly
- FEA optimized inner radial neodymium motor structure

Those are priced extremely well but I am always wary of the linearity on these large diameter voice coil designs.

Anyone have any experience with these mids? I m looking for a new set and the combo of the shallow mounting depth with the low price has piqued my interest.

Hmph... I'd really like to try them out...

Possibly 4 for the truck if they perform well...

After doing some digging, all of the reviews I ve read seem to say the mid-bass is very disappointing. However, if you re going to run 3 way active, and can feed these the power they need than they might be a nice choice for the mid range.
