Burmester B25 Speakers

The new B25 speakers are part of a range of more “approachable” products from Germany’s Burmester Audiosysteme. The B25 is a compact 3-way floorstander, measuring 35.6” high, 7.9” wide, and 13.8” deep. Despite the (relatively) affordable $9,995/pr price tag, Burmester hasn’t cut any corners in design or construction. The B25 benefits from several technologies developed for Burmester’s flagship B100 speaker, including a custom-tailored crossover designed to deliver a very linear frequency response in the critical range between 300Hz and 3.5kHz.

The B25’s driver complement consists of a new air motion transformer tweeter mounted in a small horn with a range of 2.7kHz – 45khz, a 5” Kevlar midrange, and a side-firing 8.25” x 6.25” woofer designed to provide maximum cone surface area while confirming to the speaker’s slim shape. Sensitivity is rated at 89dB/W/m, with 4 Ohm impedance. The enclosure is built from a composite of HDF and birch plywood, and is produced in Denmark. Available finishes are Macassar ebony, Silver or Elsberry.
